How SGAW Rankings Are Determined

If you've been competing or following the Singapore Armwrestling scene, you've probably seen the national rankings on our website. Here's a breakdown of exactly how those points are calculated — and why it matters which events you show up for.
Two Tiers, Two Point Systems
SGAW events are split into two tiers, each carrying different ranking points. The tier of an event reflects its scale and competitive level — so the bigger the event, the more points on the table.

Tier 1 Events — SGAW Nationals, Youth & Open
Tier 1 covers our flagship competitions — the SGAW Nationals, Youth, and Open events. These carry the heaviest ranking points:
1st Place — 20 points
2nd Place — 14 points
3rd Place — 10 points
4th Place — 6 points
All other participants — 2 points
Even if you don't place, just competing at a Tier 1 event earns you 2 points. Showing up counts.

Tier 2 Events — SGAW Community & Invitational
Tier 2 covers Community and Invitational events — great for newer competitors and smaller competitions.
The points are scaled down accordingly:
1st Place — 10 points
2nd Place — 7 points
3rd Place — 5 points
4th Place — 3 points
All other participants — 1 point
Important: SGAW-Organised Events Only
National ranking points are only awarded at events officially organised by SGAW. Competing at external or unsanctioned events — even if they're armwrestling events — will not earn you ranking points.
When Will My Points Be Updated?
Rankings are updated on the SGAW website within one week after each event. You can always check the latest standings at www.singaporearmwrestling.com.
Whether you're chasing the top spot or just getting your feet wet in the sport, every competition is an opportunity to earn points and build your presence in the Singapore armwrestling community. See you on the table.
