As the sun sets on the Youth Championships, the energy at Cosford Container Park is only going to climb. We are closing the day with something special: the Hao Yao Challenge Trophy.

Conceived a year ago by the SGAW Exco, this event is more than just a bracket—it’s a tribute to Hao Yao’s legacy in our community. We wanted a format that captures the raw, unfiltered intensity of the sport. This is a clean, high-speed "Open Brawl" designed for the athletes who thrive under pressure and the spectators who want to see the best-of-the-best go head-to-head.

• 📍 Venue: Cosford Container Park

• 🕕 Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

• ⚖️ Weigh-ins: NONE. Come as you are and ready to pull.

• 🎯 Ranking: SGAW Tier 2 Event (Official ranking points awarded)

The "Open Brawl" Format

This isn't your typical double-elimination grind. We’ve stripped it down to the essentials for maximum impact:

• 16 Pullers Only: An Open Category for anyone aged 13 and above.

• Straight Knockout: Lose a match, and you’re out. No loser’s bracket.

• Right Arm Only: Pure dominance on the primary arm.

• Best-of-3 Rounds: Every matchup is a battle of adjustments and explosive power.

1. Round of 16 (8 Matchups)

2. Quarterfinals (4 Matchups)

3. Semifinals (2 Matchups)

4. 3rd/4th Placing Match

5. Grand Final

Prizes & Glory

The stakes are high. We aren't just pulling for points; we’re pulling for the hardware:

• 1st Place: The "Hao Yao" Winner’s Trophy

• 2nd & 3rd Place: Performance Trophies

Athlete Registration

Space is extremely limited. To keep the intensity high and the schedule tight, we are capping this at the first 16 pullers to register.

• Non-Members: $25

Any last-minute signups (before 10 May, 5:00 pm) will require an additional $50 late registration fee. SGAW will not offer any refunds for athlete withdrawals or cancellations after 2 May 2026.
